Last Year's Resolutions

Jan 04, 2009 12:41

I was considering not revisiting or posting any resolutions this year, because I screwed up a couple of last year's big time and frankly, I'm embarrassed. But here goes anyway.

1) Pay off the credit card and save up some money for a house.
Success In fact, Escrow will be opening any day now.

2) Finish two issues of my comic book (bonus points for a third).
Fail. Epic fail. I've been workin' on the failroad, all the live long FAIL!!! Seriously, my failure with the comic book almost made me give up art entirely. It was the biggest opportunity of my career so far and I blew it.

3) Sell more art than last year.
Major success! I still haven't sold any prints or originals, and my CafePress store isn't breaking even, but I did do some professional freelance graphic design work and made more money on my art than I think I have in any previous year.

4) Eat less junk and get more exercise.
Success

5) Keep my computer desk clean enough to use my peripherals.
Success and then fail I got it cleaned up, but couldn't keep it that way. Half credit.

6) Keep my room clean enough so that I'm not embarrassed to have people see it.
Fail

7) Improve my art and expand my repertoire.
Success I started painting again and experimented with some new stylistic choices, so I'll call this one a win.

8) Revisit my resolutions every 2-3 months in order to keep them fresh in my mind and stay motivated.
Fail

Final score: 4.5/8 = 56%
