(no subject)
I don't know if the fire's all the way out, but it seems to have died down and/or moved on. The air no longer smells like smoke and I haven't heard any helicopters fly over the house in at least a day, so the danger seems to have passed.
In other news, I made myself a buckler (small shield for fencing) out of plywood and took it to practice last night. It's not pretty, but it's functional. I've got another, larger one in the works, and enough plywood left over for another 2 or 3. They're cheap to make, so I might just make a few more for practice.
Last but not least, kokeshikitten and I got pre-approved for a home loan today. It's not a huge amount, but it's more than enough for the house we're currently interested in. Yay! I might be a homeowner soon!
