I went to the Ren Faire with my friend Shane this weekend, and I brought back pictures.

Me

Shane

We met a very nice executioner while waiting for the faire to open

Shane bought this axe head, having been told by the merchant that they would mount it. It wasn't until after the purchase that they informed him they had no pins to mount it with.

So we took it next door to the blacksmith who had brought a small forge and asked him if he had any pins and could mount it for us. He said "No, I don't have any pins, but I could make one." So he forged an iron pin and mounted Shane's axe, no charge.

It's hard to get good pictures of a joust

After the joust, they had something called a Battle Pageant. I don't know if it was the first year they'd done it or if we'd just missed it in previous years, but it was the first time we'd seen it. Basically, it was a small scale recreation of a typical renaissance era battle, between the English...

... and the Scots

The English won

My best attempt at the javelin throw

And last but not least, the ren faire furry
