One or two of my mom's cats pees on things randomly. When I brought my cat with me when I moved, my mom thought that Simon was peeing on things because of that. Turns out...he was afraid to go into the room the litter boxes were in cause mom unwittingly put them in the room with her huge Blue Macaw. Everytime the thing screams it scares the cat...so he was waiting, waiting, waiting, and then peeing where ever he happened to be when he couldn't hold it anymore. The bathroom rugs, piles of clothing, mom's bed... He also seems to have a hatred of plastic bags....if one is left on the floor, he pees on it. We've moved the litter box, but just discovered that he's afraid of small spaces so he holds his pee STILL and then goes with just his arse in the box (it has a lid). So now we have to do away with the lid. :P Poor guy.

We have a mystery pisser right now...keeps getting the bathroom rugs wet...might still be Simon...but could be Luke, the indoor/outdoor stray. Ah well. My kitty is behaving nicely...not even biting as much as he used to...must have been a bad aura in the other house. He's much happier here.

The vet suggested it was litter box aversion too, so we've been trying to treat that at the same time as the dominance issues. I think it's got to be a little of both.

Interesting! Whatever it is, I hope it's resolved before he ruins something irreplaceable. :(
