James Knapp wins the Compton Crook Award!

The Baltimore Science Fiction Society has announced that Grasping for the Wind contributor James Knapp is the winner of the 2011 Compton Crook Award for his novel State of Decay
(ROC).

The award will be presented at 8:00pm on Friday, May 27, 2011 during the Opening Ceremonies of Balticon. It includes a check for $1,000.00 and a plaque.

The Compton Crook Award is presented to the best first novel of the year in the field of Science Fiction, Fantasy, or Horror by the members of the Baltimore Science Fiction Society, Inc. The award has been presented since 1983 and is also known as the Compton Crook/Stephen Tall Award.
