I’ve been spec fic blogging for a very long time now, and I have made many acquaintances through it. Three of the people I have worked closely with or followed for a significant amount of time have announcements I just had to share.
First of all Tia Nevitt, of Debuts and Reviews, has announced that her novella The Sevenfold Spell
is to be published by
Carina Press as an ebook. Congratulations to Tia, she has had a long slog and the sale is well-deserved.
Pat at Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist has
an anthology coming out from Subterranean Press called Speculative Horizons that has fiction from Tobias Buckell, Hal Duncan, Brian Ruckley, C. S. Friedman, L. E. Modesitt, Jr. and others. I must admit to a significant amount of jealousy about this one, as one of my life goals has been to publish and anthology edited by me, and Pat beat me too it! Though Pat deserves it if anyone does, hope he sees fit to send me a copy for review.
I should also mention that Pat was altruistic in his creation of this anthology as he explains: “You know that I accepted this gig only if a portion of the proceeds went to breast cancer research. As promised, 10% of the cover price of each copy pre-ordered from now till May 21st 2010 will go to the American Cancer Society.”
Finally, just wanted to give a quick shout-out to Aidan at A Dribble of Ink, who appears on the Functional Nerds podcast 009. If you have wondered what Aidan’s voice sounds like,
now’s your chance. And since the guys see fit to talk about me and my reading speed (I believe John Anealio claimed he would crush me, if I don’t appear on the show soon. Yea. I’d like to see him try.) I thought the least I could do was give them a quick mention right here.
Congrats to everyone. Many happy returns on future endeavours!
That’s it for now, I’m outta here.
