So I returned from Boston alive, sore, and never wanting to see Logan Airport again.
The race was a success in that I finished, but a faliure in that I didn't run the kind of time I had been hoping for. This is largely due to the last month or so of my training being largely nonexistent because of a knee problem. But I made the decision when I paid to enter the race that I was gonna run no matter what, even if it meant running slower than I normally like to. My time was 3:29 for those interested parties(In comparison to my times in the previous two Chicago marathons in '04 and '05 of 3:21 and 2:58 respectively). Still though, I had a good time, and feel much better about running Boston in the future now that I know what to expect. I will certainly return in the next few years because I have unfinished business with the course. I know I can break 3 hours there even with all the hills. And believe me, Heartbreak Hill lives up to it's name.
In the job front, things are going well. Wearing a suit isn't as bad as I thought. I have been putting in a lot of hours because besides doing our normal duties as A/V professionals, we're trying to get everything organizwed and in proper order. I am actually writing this from work right now. I have a lot of time to kill while I wait for this event to get out. I kid you not, it's 700 old women having tea as part of the Red Hat Society. They literally wear red hats and purple dresses and have tea for two hours, and as far as I know that's it. My only involvement is setting up microphones for them and that's it. Even weirder was the other night when some faucet company was having an event to debut their new line, and they had a string trio and more crab than should be legal. All this for some freakin faucets! I finally figured out though that the Internation Kitchen and Bath Show is in town.
Well kids, that's all for now. Check you later.
