Whats life with out goals?

I have never really been a goal oriented person. I have had some crazy ones in the past, like...
1. Learn to play the acoustic guitar (INWK I SWEAR)
2. Become a profesional writer (Awaiting some more college education)
3. Become a profesional texas hold-em player (no...)
4. Become a mechanic (WHY OH WHY DID I WANT THIS...i am in no way a mechanic)

But my latest one is different, it's almost an obsession. Last week my friend and I started talking about tennis and he offered to teach me how to play. So for a week straight after work we would go to the gym and hit tennis balls around. Unfortunately I know very little about tennis so we went over the basic swings, where to place your body at, serve, and the general rules about it. Unfortunately lately he's been making excuses not to go or I fall asleep by accident but it's something I found i really enjoy.

I have always been a tennis fanatic, favorite game being tennis on the wii, but never applied myself to learn it. Now I have a somewhat proper understanding of the basics and I'm loving it. I still can barely return the ball, and cant serve worth crap but its something to get hyped up about and learn more of. One of the things that really drives me is I WANT TO GET GOOD at this damn game. I'm talking about getting better than my friend is, and going to tournaments and WINNING. This will take a LOT OF TIME and patience/practice, but I really feel up for the challenge. Even so much as quiting smoking/dipping to better my game. We'll see how much i get into it once I am able to hold my own, but it definitely excites me and is constantly on my mind.

I would almost go as far as saying I want to on television playing tennis with the big shots. I don't know, we'll see..
