Not a Day Goes By
So today was nice: no work, no class, finally a day to jus do nothing. Well, not nothing. I had math work to do but that didn't happen. Instead I spent the day doing little but making icons...but I really, really like the way they turned out. :-P
So my grandma and aunt came over to play Scrabble. As they got there my aunt was talking about her jury duty today and how when she had to go to the eye doctor they excused her for the entire time and just said, "Ok, see you in 6 years." Well, that looked optimistic for a second since that leaves tomorrow open, but her next breath was spent calling the dentist on the phone to make an appointment for tomorrow. Right then.
Work's been good. Yesterday with just Aaron and I from 9-3 was a lot of fun. We got to know each other better which was cool. Aaron's one of those people who loves his heavy metal rock music but also legitmately loves opera. It just baffles me. Then Aaron really impressed me when we were talking by asking if I had a boyfriend. I said I didnt and the conversation continued, but it just impressed me that he wasn't afraid to deal with the fact that I'm gay. I didn't even think of it really as an issue, but he later asked how working with Joe had been the day before. When I said it was fine, nothing special, he explained that Joe doesn't get "out in the world much" and therefore can be a bit closed minded about things- which I found to be really interesting. Later Toni's (the manager) husband came in. When I rang him up, he snarkily commented "Need a bit more bass in your voice there." I ignored him as I'm used to doing. When he left, Aaron asked,"Did he say that to me or you?" When I said it had been directed at me Aaron said, "He's Such a dick." This and the Joe info led to Aaron later telling me that "if anyone ever gives you a hard time about anything, even managers, let me know- I'l deal with them." I thought that was awfully nice of him to say. Though I doubt there will be any issues, it's good to know he's got my back.
Well, I guess I'll just be free to do whatever after class tomorrow and Wed before work since I'm off until late Wed. Maybe I'll get some reading done, I've been meaning to finish "Ghosts".
