Spent the day with Kelly and Layla. Kelly may possibly be the coolest girl ever! Like a true
dork I got all shy when she wooed me with her musical knowledge.
She took me out record shopping. Found some great stuff and since she works at the record
store I got it for dirt cheap. Then we went out for coffee and just chatted for awhile.
Then she showed me her record collection. It's damn amazing. It makes mine look like some
preschool juvenile dwarf tiny thing. I'd love to make her the most amazing compilation ever
but she already knows about EVERYTHING. it's amazing. She made me a stack of about 12 compilations
of stuff she's into. I have music to listen to the entire drive back! Very exciting.
Anyways, aside from being exhausted I had a great time and now have a big huge crush that lives
10 hours away from me.
Great.
I ended up driving up to LA tonight and lo and behold...2 blocks from my hotel...
turbonegro were slated to play. I went and saw them despite the show being sold out.
I had to talk some shady scalper down but I think I ended up getting the ticket cheaper
then what they were selling them for at the venue..so whatever. I win.
The eagles of death metal opened and were pretty blah. Turbonegro was a rockin' good
time. Once again I was pretty exhausted though and couldn't fully appreciate the rockingness.
Ok. So tomorrow Kelly is meeting up with me here and we're gonna go see Ronnie Spector.
I can't wait wait wait. More hanging out with kelly AND ronnie spector. It will be
one of the better days of this year I suspect.
Now i'm going to bed. I'm beat...
