Johnny Depp is set to star in a new film for Warner Brothers entitled Shantaram.
The movie, based on the autobiography of Gregory David Roberts, recounts the life of a drug addict (Depp) who has spent 19 years in prison for arms violations and drug convictions. He somehow manages to escape, and makes his way to Bombay.
Filming for Shantaram will take place in Australia and India, and it is expected to be released in 2007.
