Drink From Life and Dream of Death

We are the children they never really wanted.

We burst forth into blind white zeitgeist. It never even occurred to us that we couldn't take it back. We drink pink champagne straight from the bottle on firefly nights for no reason at all. We embrace white nothingness, black everything. Spectrum insanity. We are unapologetic and utterly fearless. We go to parties to do nothing. We feel the most alone in groups. We lie on the bathroom floor and smile aimlessly upwards. You can't get that curve out of your head. We are a country without borders and our flagpole is always empty. We salute staring straight at the sun. Don't give us permission, we'd rather take it. If you ask us where we're going we will exhale entire clouds into your face. They look into our eyes and don't see themselves.

To me the backseat is the epitome of effervescence. Close your eyes and roll down the window and let the world slowly sink into you. Play music much too loud. Lean out as far as you can and then go a little further, find your wings. Don't worry about the driver, I'm making him a road map and it looks like this:

four arrows stretching into infinity.

"He knows what my love looks like." is perfect and deserves flowers so it will never be forgotten. I want to plant bluebells in your heart.

As soon as I had the feelings they started to go away.
Now I sit on the bank in the aftermath, fully clothed, drying off. I think of many things. Statecapitalpneumonicdevices, Delaware Dover pigs are in the clover. You cut my heart Hartford, Connecticut.

You count fifty
but it isn't enough
to put you to sleep
