James

Just got back from a concert in Beantown.  Boston, as per usual, is a rats' nest of identically named one-way streets in disparate parts of the city .  I stopped to get directions at a gas station.  The couple who tried to answer me ended up arguing about how to get us there to the point that they said, "Look, just let us ride along with you. We'll direct you from the back seat."

This was a little weird.

Turns out the guy was from Albany, oddly enough. We did get near the Paradise Lounge with no problem with them in the back seat. They jumped out of the car, stranded us in Boston traffic with a cheery "Its right around the corner, you can't miss it." They outpaced our car to the point that, by the time we *did* get around the corner, they were gone.

James has songs other the "Laid."  Who knew? it was an awesome show last night, though; it was their their first US appearance in 14 years or so.  Three sets of encores, including two sets not on the set list, so they must have enjoyed us.  The venue was small, maybe 500-600 people, and they guys seems really excited to be performing in the States.  Enough so that the trumpeter drunkenly fell off the stage at one point.

Got back to Albany at 3, train to NYC at 5, work at 9.  Do the math...
