Had an excellent weekend, though I do feel it's over too quickly, damn bugger bum shit. On Saturday, some of us went to the Roller Derby! OMG so so so so AWESOME! I already harboured the desire to be a roller derby girl but now even more! And my team won! I've never had a team before. I'm not really into team sports or even sport in general (not like I've written tennis slash or anything *shifty eyes*) But due to a combination of random clothing choice and peer pressure the influence of dear and beloved friends, the Toxic Avengers are now my team! Woop! :D
Me and sajee may have spent a large amount of time plotting a Merlin roller derby AU. So far no-one we've told shares quite our level of enthusiasm for the idea. They will come to see the error in their ways.
Sunday, had brunch with team Merlol (nix, db, sajee, es & I). Then went back to Nix & DB's place and we watched the first two Lord of the Rings films. Haven't watched them in 3 years, since I acquired young Master Toby Took. Hence the Took part of his name - we watched one of them the first night I got him. Nix has a collection of amusing LoTR related vid links here. I now want to revist some Lotrps - anyone got some old favourites you can rec me? Otherwise it'll be all eyebrowofdoom's stuff, not that that would be a bad thing!
Today I visited the House O' Squid (pieceofalice, lizbee and suburbannoir) for the first time. I met wee Harvey in the fur and have the wounds to prove it. I wonder if porn watching is a staple there? Or just roller derby themed porn perhaps? It was amusing (though NOT hot), and Sajee and I got some "ideas" for our fic. I'm not sure I'll count that or other film (what was it called again?!) towards my 100 films meme though. I don't think mostly fast-forwarded counts.
We were discussing fuckersnaps and how it is like the theme word of the Merlin fandom now and how people go to conventions and discuss what fuckersnaps are. LOL! And look, the one year anniversary of when the word was introduced to me has been and gone. This poll is where it all began (for me). I ask: Tell me your favourite swear word or 'rude phrase', why it is your favourite, and when you use it. And amy-wolf responds: Fuckersnaps. I can't think of a good place to use it, but on an aesthetic level it's lovely. And it makes me think of cookies. One short year and look how far that word has come! (I'm sorry, Wolfy, sometimes I feel like I've hijacked your awesome word and perhaps you want it back. It won't be in its "original condition" I'm afraid.)
