I was having a moderately shit day at work today, but then I saw a COUPLE of MFB* FIRE RESCUE BLOKES. OH DUDE. I WAS INSTANTLY HAPPY. Their "uniform" (as they call it. I call it a costume) is a bit different from regular firies who have the yellow pants-navy top-red braces combo (which I know and love). Fire Rescue Dudes have heavy-duty brown

Also, Gary Oldman in red braces! Rawr! (And Wolvie, too, but Wolvie is hot anyway.)

Your comment seems to suggest that you not think Gary is hot as he is, with or without red braces. Sacrilege! Though I guess each to her own. Wolvie, I imagine, would be wearing the red braces and no top on underneath. It would be trés hot.

To be perfectly honest, I've only seen Gary in Batman & Harry Potter. I particularly love him as Jim Gordon ♥, and while I have recently read a few delightful Jim Gordon/Batman-or-Bruce-Wayne Nolanverse fics, I still don't really... know Gary. If that makes sense? I feel a bit "new" to Gary.
That image is so hot (and is so badly encouraged by your manip!). I feel like perhaps fic needs to be written about it, in which Wolverine is seriously wearing red braces. With no shirt underneath. There would be devastation.

We don't really have motorway services quite the same as the UK (not nearly as massive and depressing) but I do know what you mean. We stopped in a couple when we were driving from London to Scotland when we were travelling, back 3 years ago now or something.
If you're interested in dipping into Gary's oeuvre, what you need to remember is that he often plays villains and he often ends up dead (whether playing a villain or not). So you get to see him die a lot, in various gruesome and inventive ways. But he is an awesome actor and very entertaining and talented and the roles he plays are amazingly varied.
I recommend:
-Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (he's very young and with his boyfriend Tom Roth in this one (see icon!); a clever, funny and slashy film, despite the death. Basically it's Hamlet ( ... )

not nearly as massive and depressing <-- This made me laugh. So true! And everything is always SO OVERPRICED. That's sort of what makes it the most depressing. Although, British service stations (called gwasanaethau in Welsh, which is the best word ever) are better than French ones. Which generally consist of a few graffiti-ed walls and some holes in the ground to pee into.
London to Scotland sounds like an amazing trip! I've not quite got to Scotland yet, though I keep half-planning trips.
Oh noes, I sorta feel sorry for Gary for dying all the time! He obviously doesn't mind but I can imagine it could get saddening, as a fan. (Also, I hope this trend doesn't follow through to his Jim Gordon role.) Thanks a bunch for the recs! Is it wrong that "Prick Up Your Ears" appealed the most, simply because of "You ( ... )

Oh god, I love Scotland. We travelled around for about 3+ weeks. It was awesome. My grandma's grandma came from Skye - which is an utterly beautiful place. And the Orkneys - beautiful in a completely different, haunting way. And the whisky! I want to go back. But why is it so far away??! *pouts* *uses most Scottishist icon to make up for it*
Prick Up Your Ears has a terrible ending though, be warned! Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead shows all bar the boy-kissing (IMO), so I'd recommend that one as well, if you just want slashiness. I hope this trend doesn't follow through to his Jim Gordon role - I was worried about that in the latest Batman flick, with the Gordon's fake-death bit. But all was well, it was just Gary being tricky! :)

I'm an eighth Scottish. :D Couldn't tell you what part of Scotland, though we have a Scottish surname and thus a tartan. ;) If you ever come back, let me know!
Also, completely off-topic but I have to share it with you: In the paper today, in one of the ickle tidbit two-liner reports, a fireman got into trouble for flirting and driving his big red fire truck round to someone's house to drop off his keys. ;D I couldn't believe it after all our firey conversations!
