yeah, i know. i think i was too young when MASH was on tv. also, the interested peeps on my flist might enjoy the anticipation of who is could be! ;P

i'm glad you enjoyed the picspam though! t'was fun/distracting/time-wasting putting all that together! :D

So was I, really, I caught it in re-runs (which I think might be on now? I don't know, I have the DVDS - NO LAUGH TRACK!) You could do worse, it stands up brilliantly after 30+ years, is oh-so-subversive and you can slash Hawkeye with just about anyone ;-)

Have looked. Can't seem to find it but then maybe I don't have my google-fu when I'm meant to be going to bed. Maybe the video store will have it. My MASH-obsessed friends can only talk about all the slash in the show! ;D

I think Seven is playing them about 5PMish, and from what I saw today when I glanced at the work telly they've come back around to the earlier ones - they've been playing them in a more or less continuous loop for at least six or seven years - they still garner good ratings.

Oh god, SO FREAKING SLASHY. Hawkeye is the main culprit (altho he's so not the only one), he loves everyone and gets so damn attatched to his buddies. There is loads of boytouching, multiple pairings...I just went looking for some of my fav moments on YouTube and for some reason most of them aren't there, or I just can't find them. I did find a cute Hawkeye/Trapper video (although I'm more partial to Hawkeye/BJ) which has a lot of the moments I was thinking of. Not bad considering Trapper was only in the show for three seasons ;-)

There's also this one, which I should warn you is the FINAL scene in the series. I mean, the very last. I guess it's spoilery (but, you know, only in a "the war ended, they went home" sort of a way) but it breaks me to pieces, every ( ... )

Since forgetting to reply to this comment, I have been watching MASH each day and now totally ship Hawkeye/BJ and may be planning some sort of fic/ficlet type thing - you are among the THREE people on my flist who I would expect to read it! I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY NOW JAN.

And the world needs moar MASH slash! Do you know the first slashfic I EVER read was MASH? At the time, it was the only MASH slash story on the entire INTERNET (believe me, I looked), and it was called Three Day Pass by Arduinna Finn. Hawkeye/Trapper, but beggars couldn't be choosers. And it was way cute. Much better now, the slash seemed to come into its own when the DVDs were released.

Oh now I'm nervous - if there is an actual fandom out there with fics of quality and all. Gosh, I don't need a reason not to write (I'm trying to get myself going here, I've lost momentum with writing at the mo). D'you have any good ones bookmarked or anything? And I'm impressed you can still remember the first fic you ever read - title and author and all! :D

There's a fandom, it was quite active a few years ago but not so much now. There are some good fics linked here and it's also been featured on crack_van a few times - I've not read in it for quite some time and lost most of my faved fic in the great hard drive crash of 2006.

I've still got that bloody story SAVED! I've hunted it up each and every time I've changed computers or had data loss or anything! It's a sweet little fic, all about the boys discovering each other over a few days while Frank's away. I still like it, even after jesus, ten years? Bit sentimental over it ;-)

Um. recs, I don't have any handy right this second (give me some time to nose about over old ground, mash_slash is a good place to start), although iirc swing_set wrote at least one awfully good Frank story in which he actually seemed human.
