I think another 4-5 punches for good measure would have been just right. Maybe next time you see him? As a friendly greeting sort of thing?

I'm one of those persons who tries a new headset every few months till I find the perfect one. This was the perfect one for me... I really hope I can buy it again. :(

I wanted to give him a couple more but I afraid that would have been considered assault. When I asked the police guy if this would have been assault he said that it would have been self defense. Unless you go mental on him.

Knowing that now makes me feel a bit crap. I could kick him some more and could even hold him down till the police would arrive.

I'd say you're the wrong person to rob, but really, from our perspective you're the perfect person to rob. AKA not a victim.

Next time, break his wrist. Give him something to think about for the rest of his life.

I should have.

I recently found out that my phone isn't insured. So going to the police wasn't really necessary. So I could have seriously injured him, get my phone back and then simply walk off.

I would either go with breaking his finger or elbow. Or both... or throw him in front of the next metro.
