It's the most wonderful time of the year(?)

--I just do not feel like Christmas. Even putting up the tree, decorating the house, wrapping the few presents I've bought so far -- I'm not feeling it. And I love Christmas. People at work have been warning me for months about how "this place ruins Christmas" because we start setting up the holiday merchandise and artificial trees at the beginning of September, and the Christmas music begins before Thanksgiving. I was able to ignore all the Christmas stuff, but maybe that combined with Christmas movies being advertised before Halloween and our town fire station getting their wreath up in October, the things that usually get me excited for Christmas don't mean anything when I see them now. I don't think it will feel like Christmas until my younger brother comes home from college in a week, and we have more presents to wrap and cookies to bake and all that jazz. I'm going to see my dad on Friday and decorate his room at the nursing home. I was really excited to do that last year (it was my idea, after all), but I'm so meh now. CHRISTMAS ANGELS SEND YOUR JESUS RAYS INTO MY COLD HEART, OKAY?

I'm doing some online shopping for my brother right now. I had wanted to get him this shirt, which he finds hilarious (lol my brother is lame), but they don't have his size in stock. Nuts. Guess I'll just get him the Dread Pirate Roberts action figure.

--I watched The Crying Game the other night because apparently I love Stephen Rea now (lol what is my deal), and then I went to download Boy George singing the theme song, but my itunes was like "hey you don't have enough memory to save this." So to clarify, BOY GEORGE WAS MY LAPTOP'S LAST MEMORY STRAW. Anyway itunes told me I paid for it but I didn't have it in there, so I had to email them all like, "Oh hey can I get my early '90s gay-themed song please?" But whatever, it was produced by the Pet Shop Boys and I am shoulder dancing to it right now.

--Other movies I've seen recently: Prick Up Your Ears, wherein Gary Oldman plays playwright Joe Orton and Alfred Molina plays his lover/collaborator. I had it out from the library but had actually started watching it on Showtime a while ago, but I can't enjoy a movie where Gary Oldman and Alfred Molina are making out when my mom is wandering around the house. Pssh, parents. Also I hadn't heard of Joe Orton before and want to read something of his now, because apparently he was really awesome, but all I got out of the movie was that he loved rest-stop orgies. Obvious conclusion: good movie.

Also watched On the Edge last week, with Cillian Murphy and (again) Stephen Rea, and I really loved it. No one in the movie was annoying, which is rare, and it was really well acted. I loved Cillian's character so much and want him in my life for reals. Here's the trailer, although it's a better movie than its trailer.

--I bought something really, really great on Black Friday (ugh that term) that I think my friends on the interwebs will appreciate. Wait til I get a pic uploaded, which who knows when that will be given programs on my computer keep closing themselves because I have no memory left or something.

--Okay, so back to this Christmas thing: I would like to send cards out but don't know if I'll be able to get around to it. Please let me know here if you are interested in receiving one from me (but no addresses; if I decide to send cards that post will come later. Just a poll for now).
