Days 22-24
Backlog: Day 21 was actually a Fishboy solo show at Mickey Finn's in Toledo with some other artists I'll remember later. Remind me to fill in this info.
Day 22 - The Toledo Indiepop Fest. It was pretty awesome, except the kids who were running it got screwed royally by the club (who decided to rearrange the bands), the sound guys (who closed down one of the stages), and Thunderbirds are Now! ("We're the most popular band here--we should get to play when we want.") More like Thunderturds are now. Pitchfork called; they want their hype back. But there were some other awesome bands, like Actual Birds and the High Spirits, Poison Control Center, The Anti-Villains, some joke bands like The Mathletes and Math the Band, and our old friends The Smittens ("hey la, hey la, my boyfriend's back"). Oh, and a band that sounded exactly like the New Pornos (Those Transatlantics). We played a supercharged 20 minute set and almost puked.
Then we played an awesome show the next day in Indianapolis at Big Car Gallery with some solo people. They screened Dracula behind us, and I was rolling around on the floor with a cowbell.
Today we drove to Cleveland, TN (right outside of Chattanooga). We played at Mi Aroma Cafe with Mermaid Police (They were so good). Sold lots of merch.
Tomorrow is Columbia, SC...then the final portion of tour. SIX DAYS IN GEORGIA.
Been having some ideas. Been making big plans.. One more week...
