Hey, everyone!
This weekend was incredible. I had a blast with Conway being up here. It kind of sucked that Shane wasn't able to get down here, but nonetheless, we had a great time.
Friday seemed to crawl by. The best way I could describe it is to liken it to those days right before a long break. After a dull history lecture and a food day in Speech, I got home and did a little clean up for the weekend.
Saturday morning, I got up at 6:30 and went out to the airport to meet Conway. After briefly being hassled by a security guard, I found him and we began our trek back to my place. We did create a great game to play on BART called guess who has killed people before.
Got back to my place and got settled. Aaron was supposed to have some people up this weekend, so most of our time was spent trying to contact them and play San Andreas. When everyone showed up, we went downtown to try to get into the Cheesecake Factory. Everyone out here knows that this is one of the most ridiculous places to try to get into. Whenever we try to get in, we have always had a wait time of over an hour and a half. Eventually, we all dispersed and tried to find other places to eat. Conway and I settled for some Wendy's.
When we were getting off the MUNI at Powell, we saw 3 college-aged kids holding signs and stickers for Bush-Cheney '04. After a yell of "Bush is a terrorist", I was greeted with the snappy comeback, "You are a terrorist."
Conway and I ended up heading back before Aaron and Co. We walked over to Misty's place for her party, but unfortunately we got there fairly early, so there weren't many people there. We stayed there for about an hour and walked back down to my place to meet everyone. They didn't show up until later, so we talked to Nick for a while.
Finally, everyone got back and the "party" began. As things progressed, Themba, Joey, Matt, and Cisco showed up and hung out. Themba ended up staying the night along with tons of other people. That night really held a lot of things, Juan Bautista Circle, pissing off the 12th floor, people throwing pumpkins off the 12th floor, 4th floor nightmares, and a lot of great quotes.
Sunday morning, we pulled ourselves together and some of Aaron's friends took off. Themba caught the MUNI back to Berkeley and the rest of us (Aaron, Jason, Conway, and I) went over to the mall's food court for breakfast. We came back to the apartment and watched some Car and Driver show for no apparent reason. Jason left and then we began cleaning the place up and doing laundry.
After a few hours of San Andreas, we decided that we needed to do something for the night. We threw together some cheesy costumes and began trick or treating the townhouses around me. With Conway as an unappealing Geisha, Aaron as Indiana Jones, and me being emo, we hit the streets in search of candy. We were greeted with laughter everytime someone opened the doors to out 5 o'clock shadow stricken faces. We even had one lady say that we were too old and then proceeded to slam the door in our faces.
After a decent haul of candy, we decided to brave the crowds and go out to Castro. The MUNI stop at the top of school was packed with pirates, Flava Flaves, and a large hodge podge of others. When the train showed up, we were so packed in that the doors could hardly close. With this many drunk people, sing alongs sounded like a great idea. So with water bottles and paper-bagged Olde English in hand, the train erupted in various chants and songs. As far as chants go, there was some "F*ck Bush", "T*tties", and a great deal of Rick James impersonations. Not to mention the intermittent outbursts of Flava Flave. We sang "F*ck Her Gently", "What I Got", "99 Bottles of Beer", The Ole Song, and "The Song that Never Ends".
When we finally reached Church Street (Castro station was closed down due to festivities), we poured out of the train and headed up the escalator. Cops immediately began grabbing the open containers that were coming off of the train. Conway, Aaron, and I hit a huge group of people and sort of decided to meander to find the party. After heading the wrong way, seeing some people do crack, seeing a girl OD, seeing some crazy dancing in lowriders and Escalades, and seeing a wicked fight, we headed towards Castro and thats when the insanity began.
The streets were flooded with people hungry for a good time. The smell of spilled rum and weed filled the air. There was a lot of dancing and utter craziness as we worked our way to Twin Peaks in Castro to find Themba. After meeting the vinyl nurse attired Themba, we went to this party that was pretty lame and then went back in the streets. It was getting late, so we had to head back and catch the train home.
The station was packed with people trying to get back to State. We caught a train up to West Portal and then took the M back to State. The best part of the ride back is that the train broke out into a rendition of "Lean On Me" that literally had everyone in the train sinigng.
We got back home and went to sleep. Conway left this morning at 8 and I have class at 11.
I write to you thoroughly exhausted but more than ready for what ever the week has to offer.
I'll be home from the 25th to the 30th, so I hope to see everyone!
"I want to be buried in Juan Bautista Circle!",
