Yay! So glad for more people chiming in! We don't bite...well, okay, sometimes we do, but...never mind. The point is, I'm glad you felt like you could join us!

Plus, Mike seems like such a poor overachiever, and I can't buy that after all these years practicing law, (which I would estimate 15-20) he wouldnt have taken care of those last few credits.

YES. That was my main problem - even if you do suspend your disbelief and say, okay, it got past the Bar and the jobs he's held...I have a really hard time believing Mike didn't cross his t's and dot his i's.

I mean, he is evil (ahem, for sake of justice and stuff)

Hehehehehe. That's our Mike. ...just like our Jack. *snicker* There's actually a Facebook group (which I joined because, BEST GROUP NAME EVER) called "Jack McCoy Would Eat a Baby If That's What Justice Demanded Of Him."

The only deal with an ep like this is, THE LETDOWN for next week.

If you need fanfic to help fill in blanks that the show leaves...hehehe....I am in the process of writing a post-"Innocence" fic...AND I did in fact write a post-"For the Defense" fic....which can be found here at my fic/graphics journal. *is a shameless whore for my writings like that*...

Another newbie here! It´s so nice to find a place to talk about this show. Law&Order is for sure the show I have been watching the longest - about 15 years now! And I can´t get enough of it LOL When Jack became the DA and Mike first came onboard, I was not sure I was going to like it, but Mike´s grown on me and I´m really enjoying this season. Oh, dare I say I´m a M/C shipper too? LOL

Anyway, onto last episode. Mike is a dog with a bone! He reminds me of Jack in the early days when *Adam* had to reel him in. I can´t decide whether or not it was personal for Ryan. Part of me thinks that she had that 'the apprentice hasn´t yet surpassed the master' thing to her. The other part believes that maybe she said it was not personal because she knew Mike and knew he had a big ego. As she mentions in the end something about a time when he couldn´t accept defeat.

I loved it that Jack went to bat for him, though. I took the "did you?" remark to mean Ryan had a point about Mike being stubborn and unwilling to admit a mistake. If there was a speech bubble over Jack´s head, it would read "Mike, Mike,...life's gonna whip your a**!" LOL

The bar scene was just cute! So was their protecting each other in the prison scene. Mike looked like he had to count to 1,000 to restrain himself from beating the crap out of the defendant for his attack on Connie.

Loving this season!
