The look Mike gave Connie made me think, “This is who is part of Mike’s family now.” (Of course, I take full credit for me just being shippy with these two in this scene.)
OMG. ILU. THIS INTERPRETATION FTW.
Ok, I have to say the first time I heard this, I interpreted it as Jack hinting that Mike wasn’t off the hook, that he might still fire Mike. I said, “If they get rid of Cutter, I am so done watching this show.” Looking at it again this morning, however, I’m thinking Jack was merely trying to tell him that even though the Bar overseers let him off the hook, someone might still attempt to go after getting his previous cases overturned with this knowledge. Still not good, but Cutter is still there.
My thoughts exactly. I was like "er.....okayyyy?" but maybe it was just the writers' way of like...making it so that everything ISN'T wrapped up neatly at the end (even though it really is) or something? Just so we're left a bit unsettled even if they decide never to do anything with it again...Several episodes come to mind where the writers have left things dangling only never to deal with them again.
