Lupo: Three cheeseburgers.
Bernard: Extra lettuce.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking that they were going to make some crack like "Gives whole new meaning to extra ruffage in your diet" or something similar. Took me a second to catch on, too, thought they were going to beat it to death.

I loved the look on Bernard's face when Lupo knew the country code -- how in the world did you know that? I personally suspect Lupo did some time in India doing phone tech support, a couple of years of that and you know everybody's area code.

Liked Van Buren saying to her son "Where were you when I wanted my kitchen painted?"

Thought it was kind of a sad scene, McCoy being concerned and Anita being reserved. Very true to character for both of them, IMO.

Laughed at Bernard getting almost snarly with Lupo over eating the last granola bar. A very 'You Shmuck!' type look.

About half way through the episode, I started thinking that they were going to have Sameer come out at the end as the real connection for both cells. Maybe I've been watching too many movies, but I was suspecting it was going to turn out way more sinister than it did with him.

I liked Cutter's 'you have got to be kidding me' look at the 'but nothing happened' statement. Of course, it also made me think that for a guy who did jail time, he was incredibly naive about the law.

The unipolar guy's apartment -- ICK! Just ick!

Good American accent, Linus. I still vote for a masked southern accent. There are some words that just sound a bit genteel when he pronounces them. I think it's rather pleasant.

The co-conspirators line reminded me a bit of last season where Cutter tore a strip off of Lupo for his (wannabe) lawyer tactics. Connie playing intermediary yet again. This time was soft though. No Connie looking like she was biting her tongue trying not to say," Enough, you two. Don't make me separate you and you both go time out." She definitely seemed more concerned about Mike in this scene.

Sameer being blackmailed in court. Would it be too inappropriate to have a game on what cuss words Connie and Mike were thinking there? That and betting on whether Mike was actually going to mouth to Lupo "I wasn't kidding about co-conspirators..."

I liked the words that they gave for Sameer, but the delivery was a bit Drama!queen for my tastes. Then again, I also believe Drama!queen-ism is not gender exclusive. Before the "protect against enemies, foreign and domestic." That part made me think of the oath one takes going into the armed forces. So does that make all Americans citizen soldiers? I may be expressing an obvious naivete on my part, but I unfortunately never paid much attention to that.

I'd have to say I looked at things more from Connie's P.O.V. on Sameer. He had been very self preservational for most of the episode, but was willing to sacrifice that in a big way for the great good in the end. I would have liked to have seen a scene with Sameer and Connie at the end of the episode where she would tell him, "We're doing you a BIG favor, DON'T screw it up..."

I like to believe that not only Cutter dropping the case onto his desk, but opening it up after a moment of debate as a definite sign of Connie rubbing off on him. If we were lucky enough to get a few more seasons of this, he might even start coming off as cordial. That's a scary thought.

I really do want to know what the heck that staircase thing in his office was as he was looking at the case. An Escher poster or litho, maybe?

I'm guessing the staircase maybe had to do with a case, since he has so many other relics from old cases in his office...who knows! Why don't reporters ever ask Linus IMPORTANT things like that? ...that's what I'd be asking, anyway. That and "no, srsly, where do YOU think Cutter is from?" Hahahaha.

Also glad you pointed out the bit w/ Anita and her son - I forgot to include that in my comments, though I had it in my longhand notes. It was an interesting addition and I'm glad they didn't linger too long. And yes, I agree that Jack's concern and her reaction were totally in-character.

Hahaha, I can so see Connie saying "Don't screw it up" to Sameer. And yeah, "drama!queen" sums it up well, as far as Sameer's delivery.

I like to believe that not only Cutter dropping the case onto his desk, but opening it up after a moment of debate as a definite sign of Connie rubbing off on him.

Definitely. I love how much more of a team effort they're trying to portray the proceedings as this season - like, not just the camaraderie between the lawyers, but between the cops and the lawyers together.

Definitely. I love how much more of a team effort they're trying to portray the proceedings as this season - like, not just the camaraderie between the lawyers, but between the cops and the lawyers together. I will admit that I've become a fan of reading Mike & Connie fanfic romances, so I'd like to believe that they are at least attracted to one another, but have the level-headedness to keep their job interactions on a professional level, for the most part. So I would say Mike loves Connie, but I would be rightly accused of my judgement being prejudicial.

Hehe. I'm pretty big into Mike/Connie. I'm trying this season not to let it color my episode commentary TOO much but I do have my fanfic (and now I have some ficbunnies thanks to last night's episode!) and I couldn't help the comment at the end of my commentary this time 'cause he was totally doing the right thing at the least because she's rubbing off on him...however I'd agree w/ you that he loves her. Hee hee.

You may have already come across this fic, but just in case you haven't, I would recommend GingerbreadPoppet's "Theories of Development" on fanfiction.net. It's a work in progress, just to let you know. I did write a waffy drabble on them, but I keep fighting with the last line. Can't seem to get the thing to be less than about 105-110 words.

I don't really get to FFN much any more, but next time I do, I'll have to check that out. If you're interested, I have a fairly decent amount of Cutter/Rubirosa fics over at my creative journal...aaaand I just put up my latest, a post-ep for the very episode we've all been discussing...it's over here and the first bit was inspired by some of the remarks you made about wanting to see Connie talking w/ Sameer...

I understand, it's hard to wade through a lot of the fics out there to find the gems. I originally got introduced to fanfic by the way of anime. Talk about screaming fan girls "OMG! (insert male anime character) is so hotzzz!!!! I luv him and he's all mine -- you can't have him!" (headesk)

Read some of your fanfic. Thank you for writing them. Fanfic has been a nice diversion for me lately. (I hate snowbirds.) I like the fic in which Mike fought for Sameer to stay. I'd like to believe it's more what he would do for love overall and less for specifics. Just my opinion.

Connie seems to be a gentle soul, well more gentle than Mike, certainly. I could imagine Mike saying something along the lines of "Don't screw it up or I'll get my Louisville slugger to knock you all the way back to Syria", if he thought he could get away with it. I did giggle about wanting to prosecute Lupo and Bernard still.

Glad you liked! I have a new post-"Reality Bites" fic up now...

I like the way that you put that - "it's more what he would do for love overall" - I agree with that, and I think that part of "love overall" ties into his love for Connie, hence why it can be specific at the same time...if that makes any sense (...it's late and I may not be totally articulate)...

I always wondered why Cutter has that model Staircase in his office.

I loved that scene with Van Buren and her son, but which one was it? Was it Rick or Stephan? Also loved how that little girl sitting next to her told Van Buren that she used to be scared. Finally, I loved how deeply concerned Jack is for the Lieutenant.

Damn. I'm impressed you remembered her kids' names. I'm totally not up on Van Buren history...

Well, I have to say my first thought to seeing the staircase was perhaps not charitable. I looked at that right after he dropped the case down on the table and wondered -- What the heck is that? The fire escape accessory to Barbie's dream house? Then I thought of the landings was screwed up and started to think of Escher.

Jack does have a big teddy bear side, unfortunately I think Anita plays her emotions to close to the chest most of the time to truly appreciate it.

Now I imagine Cutter's future daughters wanting to play with that model with their barbie's. I also thought of Escher too!

One of the reasons why I love Jack!
