Bernard: Extra lettuce.
Yeah, I was kind of thinking that they were going to make some crack like "Gives whole new meaning to extra ruffage in your diet" or something similar. Took me a second to catch on, too, thought they were going to beat it to death.
I loved the look on Bernard's face when Lupo knew the country code -- how in the world did you know that? I personally suspect Lupo did some time in India doing phone tech support, a couple of years of that and you know everybody's area code.
Liked Van Buren saying to her son "Where were you when I wanted my kitchen painted?"
Thought it was kind of a sad scene, McCoy being concerned and Anita being reserved. Very true to character for both of them, IMO.
Laughed at Bernard getting almost snarly with Lupo over eating the last granola bar. A very 'You Shmuck!' type look.
About half way through the episode, I started thinking that they were going to have Sameer come out at the end as the real connection for both cells. Maybe I've been watching too many movies, but I was suspecting it was going to turn out way more sinister than it did with him.
I liked Cutter's 'you have got to be kidding me' look at the 'but nothing happened' statement. Of course, it also made me think that for a guy who did jail time, he was incredibly naive about the law.
The unipolar guy's apartment -- ICK! Just ick!
Good American accent, Linus. I still vote for a masked southern accent. There are some words that just sound a bit genteel when he pronounces them. I think it's rather pleasant.
The co-conspirators line reminded me a bit of last season where Cutter tore a strip off of Lupo for his (wannabe) lawyer tactics. Connie playing intermediary yet again. This time was soft though. No Connie looking like she was biting her tongue trying not to say," Enough, you two. Don't make me separate you and you both go time out." She definitely seemed more concerned about Mike in this scene.
Sameer being blackmailed in court. Would it be too inappropriate to have a game on what cuss words Connie and Mike were thinking there? That and betting on whether Mike was actually going to mouth to Lupo "I wasn't kidding about co-conspirators..."
I liked the words that they gave for Sameer, but the delivery was a bit Drama!queen for my tastes. Then again, I also believe Drama!queen-ism is not gender exclusive. Before the "protect against enemies, foreign and domestic." That part made me think of the oath one takes going into the armed forces. So does that make all Americans citizen soldiers? I may be expressing an obvious naivete on my part, but I unfortunately never paid much attention to that.
I'd have to say I looked at things more from Connie's P.O.V. on Sameer. He had been very self preservational for most of the episode, but was willing to sacrifice that in a big way for the great good in the end. I would have liked to have seen a scene with Sameer and Connie at the end of the episode where she would tell him, "We're doing you a BIG favor, DON'T screw it up..."
I like to believe that not only Cutter dropping the case onto his desk, but opening it up after a moment of debate as a definite sign of Connie rubbing off on him. If we were lucky enough to get a few more seasons of this, he might even start coming off as cordial. That's a scary thought.
I really do want to know what the heck that staircase thing in his office was as he was looking at the case. An Escher poster or litho, maybe?

Also glad you pointed out the bit w/ Anita and her son - I forgot to include that in my comments, though I had it in my longhand notes. It was an interesting addition and I'm glad they didn't linger too long. And yes, I agree that Jack's concern and her reaction were totally in-character.
Hahaha, I can so see Connie saying "Don't screw it up" to Sameer. And yeah, "drama!queen" sums it up well, as far as Sameer's delivery.

Definitely. I love how much more of a team effort they're trying to portray the proceedings as this season - like, not just the camaraderie between the lawyers, but between the cops and the lawyers together.

Read some of your fanfic. Thank you for writing them. Fanfic has been a nice diversion for me lately. (I hate snowbirds.) I like the fic in which Mike fought for Sameer to stay. I'd like to believe it's more what he would do for love overall and less for specifics. Just my opinion.
Connie seems to be a gentle soul, well more gentle than Mike, certainly. I could imagine Mike saying something along the lines of "Don't screw it up or I'll get my Louisville slugger to knock you all the way back to Syria", if he thought he could get away with it. I did giggle about wanting to prosecute Lupo and Bernard still.

I like the way that you put that - "it's more what he would do for love overall" - I agree with that, and I think that part of "love overall" ties into his love for Connie, hence why it can be specific at the same time...if that makes any sense (...it's late and I may not be totally articulate)...

I loved that scene with Van Buren and her son, but which one was it? Was it Rick or Stephan? Also loved how that little girl sitting next to her told Van Buren that she used to be scared. Finally, I loved how deeply concerned Jack is for the Lieutenant.

Jack does have a big teddy bear side, unfortunately I think Anita plays her emotions to close to the chest most of the time to truly appreciate it.

One of the reasons why I love Jack!
