Yesterday was epic.
I woke up at like 10:30 which is like nighttime for me, and took a quick shower, did a few chores, and got yelled at by my parents for requesting work off. Then Kyle called me, for our adventure to begin.
Kyle arrived at my house with James Brown leaking out of his cracked car windows with sunglasses on and a smile on his face. I got in and made a smooth comment about how many joints I had on me, which were five (and fat) in number. As we make our way down Forest Street, I realize that I am ticketless and we must backtrack.
I ran into my house and ran out with little to no explanation to my parents and my sudden return. I was like a gust of wind.
Then I got back into Kyle's sleek, black car for the second of many times to come that evening. I slid my finder over the handle for his windsheild wipers to locate the button to indicate how many miles we will travel today. Shortly after, tearing up 1-0-4, I notice that is is at 4.3.
After traveling on some of the shittiest roads in existence, we make it to Kyle's school (Sacred Heart) in Kingston, where we pick up Amanda. By this time it is like 3:30 and we are all starving so we point the wheel towards Plymouth and gas it.
Nate calls with news of an extra ticket which we take advantage of and after some deliberations, we decide to forget lunch in Plymouth and focus on a bite at KenTacoHut on our way to Brian Reid's to get this ticket. Tony pays me for the ticket as we reach his house at 4:30 and we begin to panic because we aren't sure of the way to get to Providence and we cannot miss this show. We have until 6:00 to make it. Prior to this, Amanda, Kyle, and myself had smoked two bowls, and then once we picked up Tony, on the way to Lupo's, we sparked two joints.
We ended up getting there around 5:55 and got to the doors safely. The Mars Volta played an unbelievable show and I will never forget it. I don't think that the heaviness of seeing the Mars Volta play hit me until I heard some goth girl outside the venue after the show.
She said: "I wish Cedric would fuck me in the ass." And that's when I realized how amazing it was.
We smoked a joint on the way home, and I stepped in my front door at 1:30. The mile mark at this point was 275.4.
Sidenote: I hung out with Calin and Dan M. before going to the movies on Friday Night (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy which was weird) and the time together was good for all of us. I never stopped laughing.
Happy Mother's Day.
