There's an odd anti-geek vibe in the game - or perhaps, anti-mega-geek vibe.
For example, there's a the French guy who's a complete Japan-a-phile - throwing out Japanese words all of the time (though, he's suppose to be *in* Japan). But he makes a point of saying things like "Everything about Japan is sugoi - I wish I could be Japanese!" He's creepy looking, spends all of this time making outfits, and generally seems like the sterotypical "I love Japanese stuff even though I'm not Japanese" guy that drives other mad.
Then, there's a scene where I'm out with the treasurer girl, and a "creep" starts harrasing Chihiro (by the way - I think she's cute). When you confront him, he mumbles something about "uh, I gotta go watch my favorite anime" and slinks away.
It's odd in a way - that a game that is one part dating sim, one part dungeon crawler seems to depict the very people that would buy this game in a less than flattering light. Or maybe it's just me reading too much into something after midnight.
