Yeah, I'm back. I'm sure that both of you who read this are thrilled. I've got no real excuse for not writing in this over the break other than I just...didn't. Haha. Oh well. Time to chronicle the time that was my Christmas Break.
The break as a whole was rather uneventful. For those of you keeping score, I landed home on the 13th of December. Did very little over the next couple days, basically just enjoyed sleeping until noon and home cooked meals. I missed Johnny's 19th birthday because of a lack of a drive to Wolfville, which sucked on many levels. That meant me missing seeing Courtney, Johnny, and a bunch of others. AND I didn't see those people at all over the break. Rawr.
Basically, the weeks leading up to Christmas was a continuing pattern of waking up late, eating lunch, watching TV, going out, getting to bed really, really late. Lather rinse repeat. I spent most of my time with Aaron and Nick, driving around. We went all the way to Digby one night, in really bad conditions. It was silly.
Hung out with Wilson, Keegan, Brad and Morgan a couple of times. It was good to see Wilson...it'd been like 6 months since I'd last seen him. He's managed to become more confident in his time at RMC, which is good. If he's going to be an officer, he'll need confidence. Spent time with Codi too. Pretty standard times. Videogames and reminiscing.
Christmas was solid. Got myself a new iPod Classic. 80gb, video. Yeah. It's just nice. Also, got a decent amount of clothing, a 1 gb thumb drive, a new cell phone and a calendar. I pretty much cleaned up. Christmas morning was very relaxed; we woke up late and ate breakfast, then did presents. Afterwards, we loaded into the van and went to Kemptville (Yarmouth county, whut) to see baby cousins. Home for turkey (no stitches coming out of my mouth this year made it a much more pleasant meal), then bed fairly early.
New Years. Uhm...I did nothing. I watched WWE RAW, actually...had a beer, and went to bed at like...3. Didn't get to sleep until 7-ish, which sucked fairly heartily. I was wide awake, too. It wasn't just that I was tired and couldn't sleep...I was awake. I fixed some of the music on my iPod and read a bit to pass the time. Once I did conk out, I was down until 2, which was the latest I was in bed until over the break.
I suppose I do have some resolutions:
1) Continue to walk every night.
2) Get stupidly intoxicated with King's kids.
3) Write.
4) Start enjoying myself again.
5) Watch more movies
6) Stay single for a while.
7) Sing/Create some music.
8) See people that I never see, and it's stupid that I don't (Read: Dal kids.)
(See, it's 2008. There are 8 of them.)
I've been listening to a LOT of prog rock lately. Figured that this would be a nice point to pimp some of it. You should all be listening to Godspeed You! Black Emperor; The Decemberists and Mogwai. That's all for the music-pimping.
So yeah, I'm back at King's now. I cleaned my room pretty thoroughly when I got back and spent all of last night getting really drunk and messing it up again. I did some pretty stupid stuff last night, but that's what 5 beer, 1 colt 45, a shot of liquor (arsed if I know what) and a white russian does to you, I guess. I vomited quite powerfully and then dragged myself to bed. Feeling better right now.
Tonight is a hot date with Billy Shakespeare and cleaning this mess. Nick's coming to the city tomorrow, so I'll probably be chilling with him and Aaron at some point.
