Low tech first aid

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was on my way home last night when I walked past a couple of policemen: they were wearing first aid gloves, and dealing with a guy who was lying on the ground. I was off duty, so I wasn't in uniform and I didn't have a first aid kit with me, but I figured that I ought to volunteer my services ( Read more... )

I don't know much about general first aid, but I do know a thing or two about laundry, and one thing I know is that the recommended washing temperature is really just a recommendation. Some materials, like silk and wool, you do have to be more careful with, but most things you can safely wash at higher temperatures than the label suggests. I certainly can't think of anything in a normal (i.e. not fancy and girly) wardrobe that you couldn't perfectly happily wash at 60.
