On the way into work this morning, I drove through the railroad crossing as the arms were coming down to narrowly beat an oncoming train. When I saw how fast it was going after I crossed, I thought about how stupid a decision I had made, and wondered what it would mean and what it would change about the rest of my day.
It put me on the road just in time to pass a decaptitated person in a fatality accident on the opposite side of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. There were two ambulances, two fire trucks, tons of police and only one of the three lanes open. Strapped to a gurney was someone’s body minus a head. I did a double-take to make sure that was what I was looking at.
So begins my week.
