Swearing off multiple newsgroups . . . .
So one of my people at work is a mother of twins and is *very* active (or at least was) in the Mothers of Multiples
I was showing her some New Year's photos of the guys and she recommended that I send them in for the monthly photo contest of a parents of multiples magazine.
I looked up the magazine website and that led me to their forums. This in turn led me to other forums.
After looking at these I am swearing off the damn things!
According to the forums I read;
1) Men are evil/immature/etc. who will abandon their families because they are selfish and infantile.
2) Twins/triplets/whatever are death for a marriage because men are evil (see point 1).
3) Multiples get sick because their fathers are incapapble of following their mothers reasonable suggestions.
I am firmly of the opinion that most people do not post on these kind of things unless they are upset/mad/etc. Therefore, you only hear about the bad and not the good. Having said that, these were some *seriously bitter people!
Even the areas that were specifically marked 'Dad's Discussion' or 'Guys only' or whatever were almost entirely male bashing. The one post I saw by an father was immediately attacked by one particularly vicious male basher. Even when he later revealed that he had twins and had lost his wife in childbirth, he really wasn't cut much slack.
Bleck! No thanks 'parenting' websites! I'll cope on my own in my happy marriage! k?thx!baibai
