This felt like a sweeps episode. Mainly because of the many reveals. I kind of like that this show doesn't always hold off the big reveals and deaths until sweeps. It keeps you off guard.
I mean, sure, the audience knew Zelena is the Wicked Witch, but the Storybrooke residents didn't, and I fully expected that reveal not to come out until closer to the end of the season. Nor did I expect that Neal was going to die.
The story of how Neal was absorbed by Rumple and that that is why he wasn't seen anywhere was pretty cool. While I didn't want to see him die, at least he goes out a hero, which is how it should be.
The only thing that didn't work for me in that story was the presence of Lumiere. It felt like they were just trying to cram in another Disney character into the show. While that's all well and good, it was unnecessary. But that's just my opinion. I'm sure there are other people that enjoyed it, but I was not thrilled.
The thing I really liked about this episode was that Regina discovered that Robin Hood was the man she was supposed to meet way back when Tink helped her find her second true love. I have a feeling that she's going to avoid him like the plague. She's not exactly good at dealing with emotions or love. But I do hope that she gets a chance to have love again and that she doesn't sabotage herself.
Now, time to watch this week's episode!
