Fun things

We did a couple fun things last weekend. First of all we went to "Jugfest" which was a chance for jugband festival held on the roof of the 8-floor Join-Us mall, next to Yokohama station. We only stayed for an hour, and in that hour only really saw one of the four stages setup. (The other stages cost $25 admission.) The jugbands were a riot. Highlights include: A kazoo band playing "Tequira" (aka Tequila"), wacky Engrish lyrics, a taiko drum band making a guest appearence, and universally interesting attire. I managed to get some pics that I think came out ok. Check them out at my flickr page. (more after this break!)

We also visited Motomachi, Japan's largest China town, and right in our own figurative backyard. We had way too much delicious Chinese food and just generally hung around there for the afternoon. We also saw one of the two large temples in the area. Pictures of that are also on my flickr page.

Also, if anyone's interested, I used some the tools on google's new "My Maps" page to annotate the map of the area we live. Here's a link to it. If anyone's interested in knowing where stuff is in relation to us, post a comment and I'll mark it out on the map.

Oh, and to all the people who've registed to post coments on sheeplauncher: I think I've gotten to allowing everyone to post now, so give it a shot!
