TM Prompt 215: Seduction.

Friday night...

John hasn't been to a bar in a long time.

Not like this, anyway. Not with flashing lights. Not with pumping music, so loud that the floor vibrates and one can barely hear themselves think. Not with all the men in their tight clothes and awesome bodies, drinking and dancing and laughing and cruising anyone and everyone that walks by.

Ste is the one who convinces John to come. John's new Freedom Force partner. Convinces him to stop moping around his big, empty penthouse, stop stalking the news for reports on Rogue and anything else Brotherhood, stop flirting with some hot Welsh guy that was across the Atlantic Ocean, stop wishing he could get back together with his ex-boyfriend.

To get out and actually live. He gave a lot away to have this life now, so he'd better as hell live it, Ste tells him.

John doesn't even think he'll be able to get into the bar. Pyro used to carry around fake ID with him, enough to make him just twenty-one and go anywhere he wanted. Not that it had really mattered, because Pyro had spend a lot of time in Europe, and his age hadn't really mattered. John Allerdyce has to walk a narrow line now, and he'd better stay good, or it could all be taken away.

Ste tells him not to worry. They're Freedom Force, baby, and NYC is their playground. They just put away the Brotherhood of Mutants. They'll be able to get in anywhere. And they do.

Places like this used to be Pyro's playground, before he (re)met Doug, started dating, fell in love. Just places like this, with hot boys wanting a quick way to get off, and that was all Pyro had wanted, to begin with. It's all John wants now. But he feels differently, almost uncomfortable, like he doesn't belong, and he wonders about how long it's been since that all changed. A year. Feels like a lifetime.

Ste takes him up to the bar, to order a drink. "I don't drink," John says flatly. He never did, and neither did Pyro, and he thinks maybe he shouldn't start.

"This is the best time to start," Ste says, laughing, and orders one for him anyway. "Try it."

John takes a small sip, and doesn't even make a face. "Tastes like..."

"Dr. Pepper," Ste laughs, and John drinks more because why the hell not? What does he have to lose anymore? Not much.

John does, however, refuse to go out on the dance floor, just leans up against the bar and watches Ste enjoy his time out there, moving and swaying in the crowd. Ste likes girls, but he also likes guys, and he must really be in the mood for cock tonight, with the way he moves his body, not-so-innocently bumps up against other guys, the way he looks at them.

"You're John Allerdyce," someone says to him.

John glances over at the guy, short and hot and skin like chocolate. Intense eyes, interested.

John? Not so much. "Yeah, so?" he says, brushing him off and looking back at the dance floor.

"You're, like, totally a hero, dude," the guy says, trying to flatter him. Seduce him, even?

"Don't fucking call me that." John doesn't care. Doesn't bother really paying attention to the guy, but lets him buy him a drink or two. Why the fuck not? John thinks, and he thinks the same when the guy finally is forward enough to reach over and cup John, rubbing through his jeans. Why the fuck not?

They go to the bathroom and John's always hated that, because it's just sort of gross. But in a place like this, for reasons like this, the bathroom makes sense - quick and dirty and who cares? They kiss and fumble and stroke and suck and then they're done. Guy's got his brush with celebrity, and John has a momentary high.

He's still feeling sort of good, as he goes out onto the dance floor to find Ste. High off the orgasm, or maybe the booze, but probably both. Ste comes up behind him, arms circling around John's waist. Ste's always a bit touchy feely, just like that, and John usually doesn't respond or brushes him off. Except tonight, he leans into it.

Ste presses his lips against John's ear. "Let's get out of here." John doesn't even answer with words, just turns around and kisses him hard and then they're gone.

And John thinks, as they fall into bed awhile later, that this was probably Ste's plan from the beginning. The fucker.
