I LOVED that. I love how in the beginning, it's very fast-paced and they are running, and then they stop... the ending just becomes slow and steady, soothing to read. And I absolutely LOVED the ending. I love when writers do that, call back to something previously mentioned, and it might not seem like it fits, but it completely fits. I can so imagine her walking slowly with John by her side and when she sees one of those bubblers, she just stops to watch it bubble. I also loved how you have her thinking about previous negotiations that either ended well or ended poorly, and then she thinks of Simon... but it's not accusing or in any way about her hatred or love for him, but it's neutral. And she ends up thinking about John instead. And she can't help but think of him, comforting her, and she knows that's right. I'm putting this in my memories of favourite fics. Thank you for sharing this piece.
Great little post ep fic. It's great to read that she'd do something physical to distract herself rather than the obvious route of burying herself under a pile of work.

Loved the bit about 'John, the only man who didn't fawn over Lucius like a Beatles freak', it had me lol. You captured the both of them beautifully.
Thanks for the great read!
