Lawyers?

Oct 06, 2007 02:06

In Myanmar and Pakistan these days, social groups you wouldn't necessarily expect - monks and lawyers - are taking direct action.  The workers of the world are so last century.  The Pakistani case is so downright hard to picture that my immediate reaction is amusement:

"Police fired tear gas to disperse lawyers pelting rocks at the North West Frontier Province assembly, and the lawyers also threw a burning effigy of the president on top of an armored police vehicle."  (From http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071006/ts_nm/pakistan_dc_32)

Not to blog for five weeks and then to have nothing more to say than this is, I'll admit, an insult to the blogging profession (or vocation, as the case may be).  But I'm recovering from something that can only be described as a combination of postpartum depression and an intense faction fight, and it is, for the moment, the best I can do.  More soon....
