The characters were:
- Rory Williams [Doctor Who]
- Farmer Grimethorpe [Clouds of Witness, Dorothy L. Sayers]
- Clara Oswald [Doctor Who]
- Rosanna Spearman [The Moonstone, Wilkie Collins]
- Biroc [Doctor Who]
- Ford Prefect [The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams]
- Sir Lancelot [Monty Python and the Holy Grail]
- Geoffrey Delamayn [Man and Wife, Wilkie Collins]
- Frankie Price [From Mansfield with Love]
- Jo Grant [Doctor Who]
- Alicia Dammers [The Poisoned Chocolates Case, Anthony Berkeley]
- Inspector Joseph French [Freeman Wills Crofts passim]
- Lynda Moss [Doctor Who]
- The Garbageman [Dilbert, Scott Adams]
- Carrot Ironfoundersson [Terry Pratchett passim]
thisbluespirit asked:
[Farmer Grimethorpe] is the long lost heir to the kingdom,
[Biroc] their mentor, [Geoffrey Delamayn] their trusty
companion, [Frankie Price] the love interest in need of
rescuing, and [Jo Grant] the villain they need to defeat.
How does the quest go?
Not well, particularly for Frankie who's got two violent,
abusive men trying to rescue (or 'rescue') her, and for Biroc who
spends all his time facepalming at his pupils' general levels of
stupidity and awfulness. The best result is probably that Farmer
Grimethorpe sees Geoffrey casting lustful eyes upon Frankie or Jo,
and promptly attempts to murder him. And Frankie throws in her lot
with Jo because however villainous her plan, it can't be as bad as
either alternative.
[Rory Williams] and [Clara Oswald] discover they're soulmates.
Do they sail into the sunset or murder each other to get
away?
Rory, of course, is not going to have eyes for anyone other
than Amy, so his relationship with Clara would doubtless be horribly
screwed-up. Fortunately, or unfortunately, that's the way Clara
seems to like her relationships, so at least one of them will
get something out of it.
[Alicia Dammers] is an assassin sent to kill [Rosanna Spearman].
Do they succeed or they caught by [Ford Prefect], the agent on
their tail?
Hmm. Alicia's an intelligent amateur criminologist, and
Rosanna's an intelligent professional criminal (though reformed).
This could be quite a lengthy game of cat and mouse. I don't think
either party can expect much help from Ford, though; he'll be off
in search of the best hostelry that the neighbourhood can provide.
pedanther asked:
[Sir Lancelot], [Inspector French], and [the Garbageman] are
chosen by a prophecy to save the world from [Lynda Moss]. Do
they succeed?
With that lineup it would be quite difficult not to.
They've got the resources of Scotland Yard, one of the finest brains
in the world, and a knight skilled at dismembering people in a berserk
rage. It's just a question of whether Lynda ends up arrested or in
tiny little bits.
Under what circumstances might [Alicia Dammers] and [Carrot
Ironfoundersson] fall in love?
An amusing juxtaposition; something of a 'dating Catwoman'
vibe, I feel. Presumably it's a pre-Angua Carrot, so Alicia (having
discovered he's never youknow at all) decides to show him what he's
been missing. And then finds she's most inconveniently fallen for
him.
Which character on the list would you most want on your side
in a TV quiz show?
Looks like an easy win for the Garbageman, there. All right,
he may have some ulterior motive which means I don't win, but
I think he's still my best shot.
liadtbunny asked:
Out of [Rory Williams], [Ford Prefect] & [Frankie Price]
who would [Jo Grant] snog, marry or avoid?
Ford's got the same sort of galactic-hobo vibe as the Doctor,
but not his morality, so I don't think Jo would be up for anything
longer-term than a snog once she gets an impression of his character.
As for whom she'd marry, it seems far-fetched that she could detach
Rory from Amy (though she'd probably prefer him over Frankie); slim
though they are, I think her chances would be better with Frankie,
particularly if she's just seduced her to the cause of evil as in
thisbluespirit's first question.
auroracloud asked:
[Rosanna Spearman] writes a poem to/about [Sir Lancelot]. What
kind of a poem is it? Why do they write it? Also, please
quote a line (or a few words) from it.
I'm not sure Rosanna's the poetic type, and she almost
certainly hasn't had a literary education, but she's definitely
got a romantic soul. So probably something simple with rhymed
couplets and where you don't want to look too closely at the
scansion. Ah, but the content...
He burst the chamber open, and the last guard he slew.
Then dropped to one knee before me. "My Lady, I come for you."
[Rory Williams] and [Inspector French] go on a date. Where do they
go, what do they do, and how does the date go?
This is presumably in the 1930s of the corrupt timeline, when
Rory is guarding the Pandorica. Inspector French is investigating a
case with his usual dogged persistence, and wants to question Rory,
whom he believes to be a perfectly ordinary night-watchman. For
reasons (perhaps not wanting to come to the attention of the gang
behind the crimes) this has to be done in the guise of meeting at a
small restaurant in a quiet side street. I don't think there's
going to be much romance in it, since French is married and Rory
is affianced.
