lost_spook asked:
4 [Brother Mace] and 5 [Thursday] have to work together to
rescue 6 [Six] from the clutches of 8 [Michael Rafiel]. How does that work
out?
Pretty well, though some details depend on whether Michael is the
feckless ex-delinquent of the books, or the more resourceful version seen in
the BBC adaptation. Either way, though, Thursday isn't going to have much
difficulty tracking down a man wearing that eyesore of a coat. The only
question is whether he'll get there before Six gets bored and escapes on
his own.
Brother Mace spends the entire time in a nearby tavern, discreetly
interrogating the locals. Or at least, that's what he claims he was doing,
when Thursday, having finally dealt with Michael, comes looking for him.
2 [Nanny Ogg] and 11 [Gemma Corwyn] enter a ballroom dancing
competition. 13 [Marianne Dashwood] is a judge. How does 13 [Marianne] rate
their performance and do they win or fail to make it through the first
number?
Oh dear. Marianne would have definite views about dancing (to whit,
it should involve an attractive young man and an attractive young woman, and
be very romantic). Given what canon says about Nanny Ogg's style of dancing,
I think the resulting performance would be spectacular but short.
1 [K-9] and 15 [Marvin] become penpals. What do they write about
and what happens when they meet?
And I'm sure you couldn't hope to find a better-matched pair of penpals.
K-9 writes detailed factual accounts of his adventures, to which Marvin
replies with single sentences along the lines of "That was awful."
What happens when they meet depends whether K-9's rash enough to make
a direct data connection to Marvin. If so, he probably breaks and ends up
needing extensive repairs, not for the first time.
liadtbunny asked:
6 [Six] and 3 [The Collector] start up a dog grooming business.
How does it go and is 9 [Blackheart] their best customer?
Six has to do all the work, what with the Collector being unable to
leave his chair and not having any way with animals. The dogs end up
wearing tasteless jackets and sporting outrageous perms.
While Blackheart might unwittingly stumble across the threshold of the
business in question (if, for example, he was taking the Baron's hounds to be
made presentable for a show) I think the Collector's price-gouging would
rule out any repeat visits. And, in the long run, the Collector, being used
to running a monopoly, would lose all his customers to shops that charge more
reasonable prices. Bankruptcy staring him in the face, he loses it and reverts
once more to his true form.
pedanther asked:
Why is six [Six] afraid of seven [Morden]?
I can't see Six being afraid of Morden, but it can't
be denied there's something unsettling about the man. Morden has, after
all, got some very problematic associates. Or perhaps he's been
spotted asking Peri and/or Mel what they want.
A group of the characters go golfing. Which character gets a hole
in one [K-9]? And which character would be best, or worst, at providing
medical assistance to one [K-9] afterward?
K-9's not having a good meme, is he? Obviously Morden was
practising a few shots and the club somehow went off in his hand.
A tragic accident, of course. Fortunately there's a Doctor around
to pick up the pieces, while Morden finds himself cornered by a
suspicious Inspector Thursday and a vengeful dustbin.
Which character on the list would you most want on your
side in a zombie invasion?
Although Six's stories tend to end in bloodbaths, and he hasn't
got the best track record at keeping companions alive, I think he'd
be the most plausible candidate to save the world from the zombies.
canadanne asked:
10 [Georgina] and 14 [the Determined Dustbin] switch places - which is better
suited to their new role?
On balance, I think it would have to be the Dustbin. Georgina is
totally devoid of the necessary qualities to stand patiently around all day
while rubbish is fed to her. The Dustbin, on the other hand, would happily
throw itself into its new role as Adam Adamant's sidekick, and I'm sure Simms
would be happy to help it disguise itself as a flower girl, discotheque
hostess, bikini model, etcetera. Probably last longer before being found out, too.
12 [Chauvelin] is sent on a one-way trip to Mars. Which character on
the list would they choose to accompany them?
If he had any sense, he'd take K-9, who'd be by far the most useful to
him on the Red Planet. But since he has tendencies towards
I-have-you-now-my-pretty, I rather fear he'd pick Marianne.
