I guess I could look into the history of marriage... but I'm lazy. Wee.

I guess that largely I don't understand the point of marriage nowadays.

They weren't entirely rhetorical questions. It was just kind of sad that the author pretty much assumes that they're bad as if that's a given, without offering any reasons as to why it's bad.

I'll go with the 'weird' one first; incest is a pretty odd thing to talk about.. but enh.. if it's two consenting adults, whoopie dee. It does rather rattle my morals and my perception of right and wrong, but I can't see any logical reason to disprove of such behavior.

If hospital visitation is the only reason, or the main reason, for gays desiring marriage, there has to be other options. If what you say is true, then even myself with refusing to get married wouldn't be able to see my life partner (?) on her death bed. I'd have to choke a bitch.

In response to that main argument I say, who gives a fuck about children. I don't agree with the notion that children are the end sum of a relationship. Gosh. People should just together to be happy and enjoy each other, who gives a fuck about breeding.
