Chinese puzzles: Solved

Feb 14, 2011 13:16

Well!

The two worst Chinese puzzles have untied themselves with very little intervention on my end, and so did the 3rd one!

Current rent lease: SOLVED

My father told me he would take care of my rent in Trois-Rivières if I was hired... That's not something I would have asked him, but that was not negotiable: "You had the wind in your face for so long, you worked hard to keep going and now that you have the wind in your back, I want to make sure you can sail it, for Alex's and your sake", he said. So, I won't have to worry about paying 2 rents :-) <3 Dad

Also, it seems two people would be interested in my apartment. My ex is going to sell the house, and if the sale happens before my apartment is rented, he would be interested in renting it. What is interesting in that is that Alex would be in familiar tracks when he would visit his dad... So that would be nice.

I heard of another person who would like my apartment. This apartment has passed from friend to friend for over a decade now. It's rather big and the rent is low for the space I have. So, that's not a place I'd like to give up to just anybody, but to somebody I know or who really needs this.

So, problem solved!

Babysitting Alex: SOLVED

I was able to secure 4 weeks of safe babysitting for Alex, in Trois-Rivières. This means that he would get 2 weeks here, at home, and two weeks at Luce's. This will allow me to start working and rake up the money for the cash down on the new rent in Montreal. I may be able to work from what I'll have left with the move, but I prefer to count without it, since there are fees to moving that I need to plan (renting a truck, activation fees of phone / Internet / electricity, etc.)

I know it will be a heartbreak for me to leave him here though... The Sunday's goodbyes are going to be excruciating. I'll get in the car, wave goodbye to Alex and trying to convey my love with my face and gestures, drive out of sight, then stop to cry a few minutes before I really get on the road... Hehe. I wouldn't be surprised if I have to do that. However, I will leave my son in good hands, so that will alleviate some of the sadness of parting.

With my mind at rest, I will be able to focus on what I need to take care of while in Montreal.

Moving: SOLVED

This was the less complicated of the knots. I'll be able to rent a truck. From this point, the process doesn't need a lot of brain power like the other two puzzles did. I need someone to drive the truck and people now to actually help me move the things in the truck and from the truck to the new apartment.. As for packing, same thing. The process is not complicated but will be time consuming. Just gotta roll up my sleeves and get busy :-)
