This whole thing is getting out of hand.

You can condemn the girls. You can condemn their actions. You can even condemn the school culture that seems to be the point of so much hype. At the end of the day, its your opinion against all of ours. Its your view and in this day and age, our views of objects are just differences we should learn to accept. Like how I understand why some people think this is ridiculous or that they think its stupid or barbaric.

Different views are fine. At the end of the day they don't matter anyway and in a month, this whole incident will be barely at the top of anyone's mind.

But just so you know. Slander is bullying. Saying things about other people that is not true is tantamount to slander which can be charged in court. Saying things that are completely wrong and insulting that can result in a loss of reputation like what you'll are doing to Mrs Kelvyna Chan right now is slander and by the way. It may not be physical bullying but it is bullying nontheless. You complain about internet bullying, peer pressure but I ask you, isn't what all of you'll are doing internet bullying too? Using the force of the "internet" to try and create some kind of response in the school which is effectively trying to create pressure on the school and the students to say that "it was wrong"?

When your opposition remains ill-informed, obstinate, refuses to see all the information in a completely objective manner, that's when village mobs get formed and this is a repeat of 1962. A witch-hunt of a different manner with different tools.

"I know that birthday pranks are common during secondary school and tertiary school period. However, this is certainly too much! Just when I thought that the poor girl being tied up to the chin-up bar was crying, sobbing and screaming was bad enough, the principal's reply is simply adding fuel to the fire. But at least, the principal was seen with the effort trying to admit that she's involved in the bullying too. Also, since the principal say that the girl is "popular with her peers", I conclude that some of the teaching staffs took part in the bullying too. Nice way of using the word "popular"."

The complete lack of information here is amazingly ridiculous. Preposterous. Idiotic and not to mention highly stupid. The amounts of immaturity and childishness present in this person's blog post clearly illustrates to us the problems of our hallowed "freedom of speech" as words get twisted, intentions are mangled and views are corrupted.

Saying that:

"Let's all boycott ACJC! If you insist on sending your children there, why not send your children to a torture chamber instead. You can save alot on paying the beasts.

It's time we tie the principal, Mrs Kelvyna Chan, to the chin-up bar and smash cakes and drinks at her since she's a "popular" figure in school too. I mean, who doesn't know the principal of their school right?"

is slander and an attempt at internet bullying. Shut your trap. Stop attacking our principal. If you have so much time to write something out like this, maybe you should actually do more research on the incident, find out what happened, maybe even come down to our school to understand the school context of what happened and spend a few days in lessons to learn the culture. Before being so quick to judge, get your facts right.

And what you said is still slander you complete total hypocrite.

The birthday celebration in my opinion wasn't particularly fun or amazing and honestly putting the video on youtube wasn't the smartest thing in the world. But I don't see it as anything particularly harmful and if my friends did this to me on my birthday, it wouldn't have been such a big deal. Its just being blown way out of proportion and out of context.

So to everyone who is not from ACJC, or was never from ACJC, if you have an opinion on this issue, don't be so quick to judge. Find out the facts and make sure you really understand what's happening before you actively make judgments on this issue.
