i got nailed on the boards
The boards are my 12-string guitar fretboard and my piano keyboard.
I used to have such pretty nails... lovingly filed into perfect parabolas... all gone now. Splintered to smithereens, in some cases right down to the cuticle. How?
My guitar strings destroyed the left-hand ones. My piano keys finished off the right-hand ones.
I don't mind sacrificing my nails as long as I have the musical chops to show for it.
Now excuse me, I'm going back to the guitar to practice the theme song for SpiralHeart camp...
