I just bought a skirt suit from a woman in Pennsylvania. Yesterday, before shipping it to me, she sent a message.
We are very sorry but the suit you purchased has a defect in the hemline of the jacket. I bought this on sale for $39.00 (jacket only) but didn't notice the defect until I was pressing it to send. It would cost about $8.00 to have the hem of the jacket fixed if you still want it. Please advise how you wish us to proceed. We can ship it with your acceptance of the defect or refund your money. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for you interest. Please visit us again as we are very honest about the condition of our clothing.
I answered:
Please send it immediately as is, and I'll get it mended. It isn't a big deal. I liked how you wrote and asked. I'll give you a good mark. :)

We are iced in at this time, but will get it to you either via US Priority mail tomorrow, weather permitting, or at the latest Tues, Since you such a nice person there will also be a little surprise with your package. Thanks again for your business. I wish everyone were as nice as you. What a beautiful world it would be!
Awww... I live for sweet moments like this! :) Why I value gentleness. This is what I'll tell E-Bay about her: "Honest businesswoman - Buy from her!" I could bother about a few dollars, or I could share a moment of tenderness and joy with another human spirit. Hmm... now there's a no-brainer.
