Oh Beautiful Mother !

Oh Beautiful Mother!
You always give refuge
To your children in need,
Oh Glorious Mother!
You provide a shelter,
Universal Haven
To the Children of Faith.
Oh Radiant Mother!
Your Grace is Limitless,
Oh Great Divine Goddess.
To the Hungry and Lost,
To the Homeless and Poor,
To the Unloved and Sad,
All they must really do
Is surrender to You!
Your love -- like the ocean,
Is peaceful, deep and calm.
Your eyes -- like the night sky
Shining with Sacred Light.
We find your Loving Shade
Blissful Serenity.
Universal Mother --
Liberate us for Grace.
Let us Recognize You
With Our Hearts, Minds and Souls.
And Cherish you Always

OK, I was fine with it until I kept getting stuck on these lines...

"To the Hungry and Lost,
To the Homeless and Poor,
To the Unloved and Sad,
All they must really do
Is surrender to You!"

I would say the oppressed classes had better rise and cast off their chains, but then I've gone from quietism to activism. I used to be in an order of quietist Sufis that was heavily Hinduized and like this Hindu poet thought their only proper activity was to sit absorbed in dhikr and meditation on the divine metaphysical reality. They taught that by invocation of the Divine Name the world around us will be put to rights. But I was drawn into activism, into the Pagan Cluster, into Reclaiming Witchcraft because my heart was bursting with the need to be engaged in humanity. Yay Reclaiming! Definitely a path with a heart.

I cheat and use Character Map. I sometimes post in Arabic, Cyrillic, Devanagari, and Hebrew characters using Character Map too. Do you have anything like that on Linux? If not, you could always program your keyboard with Unicode to make it type any characters you like... right? You would know more about that sort of thing. Another way to type Greek if you know HTML is switch to the Symbol font, which has Greek equivalents for Roman letters. Hmm, there are all kinds of ways to go about it...
