I wrote an article about geology and Witchcraft...

It's online at http://dreamweaving.org/Current_camp/geology.html

Dreamweaver Nikole asked me to write it the last morning at Diana's Grove, when I was getting ready to leave. My blessed memories of Midwest Witchcamp are still illuminating my life. The concentrated magick we wove there has been working ongoing transformations in my being. This article is a love letter to the land whose earth energy supported our feet and nourished us, and to the amazing people who care for that land and bring its magick out for the community.

Something in the nature of Earth energy ties us to a particular spot of ground, its special characteristics as unique as a beloved person's face and personality. Ancient paganism, connected to earth power spots and spirits of magick places, related to the Earth Mother this way. It was sky-father monotheism that started the idea of universal religion that has to be exactly the same no matter where you go. It cut its ties to the earth.

As we return to the pagan way of relating to the earth, forming magickal interactions and bonds with the spirits of particular spots, it's like meeting people, getting to know them as individuals, and making friends or falling in love. This article was written in the spirit of building a personal relationship with a special place on the earth whose memory will always awaken magick within me. Some of Diana's Grove's earth power is now woven in with my being, helping nourish and support me.
