Wow-well it has a very shamanistic feel to me. I noticed that on the other music videos on google that have a Kazakh theme and among the few Central Asians I have met. Beautiful.

And now, from a Yurt on the steppes of Central Asia.......

Nice- if a little over arranged- such Kazakh folk music as we have on CD tends to be a little wilder in spirit as you might expect- more akin to central European Roma music (perhaps that's why I react so strongly to it :o)

During the Soviet era, classical music education in conservatories was given for free to talented students, and now Kazakh pop music is reaping the benefits.

I love this powerful imagery (and the yurt). Do you know if there's any particular story behind the images?

No idea; I'm guessing it was a plot idea that was originated for the video, to dramatize the concept of an angel in a Central Asian setting, but for all I know there might be a folktale behind it.

It seems to have a lot of the elements of Russian and Western fairy tales... and also suggests a primal struggle for the soul.
