Long awaited post
alright. so im back from my vacation everyone! actually...ive been back since last week but ive just been that busy to even update a bit.
anyways my trip was awesome! i dont have too much time to go into detail but i will tell u that i enjoyed every single second of it. We started out in London. that day was just a big mess. to make a long story short it took us forever to get to our hotel and we were too tired to see anything of london. The very next day we met bright and early with the rest of our tour. We met our tour manager, Jane, and our tour driver EJ. they were absolutely the best. it was a packed bus so it ended up totally 49 people on our tour. Lots of different people. Many from Australia but also many from the states as well and to our surprise from california also. On our very first day we set out to amsterdam, what a great place to start our trip huh. anyways that night was too crazy. like i said in my last post everything u hear about that place is true. haha lots of stories ther ebut ur just gonna have to ask me in person for me to tell u. next up we went to germany. st goar first and saw the rhine valley. very beautiful. the next day after that we set for munich and there was just something about this city that was very inviting and cozy. i dunno if it was cuz of all the world cup mania but everyone just seemed to be having a good time anywhere we went. we checked into our hotels and then headed out for the night. we went to this very famous beer hall and they sell beers by the liter! haha i had like 3 of those, but those aussie boys on our trip lost count after 5. anyways that was a very fun night and i know that would be somewhere i would like to visit again.
the next day we headed to austria. The hills are alive with music over there. hahah u would laugh if u get it. anyways austria was very beautiful. it started to snow while we were there! the mountains were just gorgeous. definitely one of the most beautiful countries that i visited on the trip. some people did white water rafting but i passed and thank god cuz people said it was freezing. the next day we headed to Italy!!! i was waiting for this moment since we booked the trip. we headed to venice first and venice is just gorgeous! the canals were soo beautiful and breathtaking. we were able to run free in venice and then later on we all took a gondola ride through the canals. very entertaining. i love how everything is surrounded by water. then we had dinner and then set for our hotel. the next day we set off to Rome. we spent 2 nights in rome. Rome was one of the best cities we visited in italy. i saw the colloseum and went to the vatican as well. the sistine chapel is amazing!! i wish i could have taken pictures in there but i couldnt. but it is definitely a site to see. after that we just had pretty much free time in rome to walk about the city. the next day we headed to florence. another beautiful city. i am just in love with italy so im very glad i had this opportunity. we had a chance to see the david but the line was too long and we had to leave if we wanted to meet up with our tour on time. that night was fun. we ended up having a traditional tuscan dinner, wedding style. other contiki groups were there and it was set up as it would have been for a traditional italian wedding. they had an opera singer and musician. the food was soo delicious! i loved every bite of it. of course unlimited wine was at our table and i was sipping on some very fine chianti. i love red wine! after dinner we headed to a disco, or a club basically. some people stayed behind i went to the club. it was soo much fun. plus i was drunk. haha but i had fun.
the next day we had to get up soo early to head for switzerland. everyone was all hungover from the night before and knocked out on the whole way to switzerland. this country is amazing as well. beautiful mountains and hillsides. we stayed in lucerne. We went to a real swiss army knife store and we all bought soo much swiss chocolate. its soo yummy though! they also have tons of swiss cheese and watches. after a cruise on lake lucerne for sunset a group of us headed out for some fondue! i didnt know switzerland made fondue. so now i can say we had authentic fondue. haha. anyways we had cheese fondue and chocolate fondue. just absolutely delicious.
the next day we headed toward paris! this was a very long bus ride but thank god i was able to sleep practically every minute of it. we arrived arounf 4 oclock and checked into our hotel, had dinner, and then took a bus tour of paris. so many things to see!!! they call paris the city of lights so the sun hadnt set yet so we just went around the city. then around 8 oclock we set for the Eifel tower. it was soo amazing and huge! we went all the way to the top but time was running out cuz we had to start heading out towards the bus. anyways when we got down the sun had finaly set and the lights turned on. its more amazing at night. at 11 oclock they started a night show and the lights flickered for a good 10 mins. truely amazing. after that we went more on a bus tour and saw more sites even the arc di triumph. there is a huge traffic circle, or as they call it turn about, and apparently there are 11 unmarked lanes and that no car insurrance in the world will insure a car in there. on average there are somethign like an accident every 12 mins. well we headed straight for it and since our tour driver is crazy he went speeding into that thing. it was soo much fun. everyone was screaming and laughing. after we got out of that we went down the street of diamonds and rubys. all ur big name stores can be found on that street. for the rich people of course. then we headed home. we had a very eventful day that day. the next day we had free time in paris and so we walked all around the city. by the end of the day i was soo tired. we went to the hotel and rested and then around 9 oclock we headed to a caberet. this was soo much fun. we had dinner and the show was awesome. it was right by the moulin rouge. after the show was over we headed to a bar to celebrate our last night together as a group. so many people got drunk but it was still a great night none the less. the next day we headed back to london. we dropped some people off at the airport in paris first then we headed to london. it was soo sad to say goodbye to everyone.
i had such an awesome time and at the end i was ready to go home but now i wish i had stayed a little longer. i want to go back. i hope i can go back sometime in the future but until then i have many fun and awesome memories to keep with me forever. i had such an awesome tour group and i miss every one of them already. i hope we can all get together sometime and still keep in touch. well anyways im sure now ur all wodering where all the pics are. well i tooksimething like 350 pics. so i cant load all of them. but when i get time....and im not lazy, i will post some pics. haha until then......ill be around. i didnt other stuff this week but thatll be in another post cuz i have no more time.
