Th' Trip
Well, I've just returned from my little soujourn to Missouri. It is sunny out and the streets are fairly clear. I am saddened, of course, to leave my loved ones and return to a place I don't quite think of as "home".
But anyway. Regarding the foot of snow that fell Friday morning, it did mess with my visit a little, but I'm glad that I didn't get stuck for the weekend in Chicago or St.Louis. In the end I accomplished most of what I set out to do; quality time spent with family and friends, Mr.Nick and little Rosco, a birthday of sorts for Meghan and retrieval of some stuff from home. I never did get to see Ricky or visit my barge due to the snow.
The moral of the weekend is, I guess, is that Kalamazoo can be as fun or lonely as I make it for myself. I do understand how people get stuck in their home towns and afraid to leave. But I am here now and will make the best of the next few months, while maintaining good contact with the friends and family at home.
