From what little I could find out there, the 60's and 80's series are both a lot of fun. The 2007 series not so much. We'll just put that as "not recommended." The Hakaba Kitaro series, however, is highly recommended. Really cool, and the first actual adaptation of the manga. Plus the voice actress who did Goku does Kitaro's voice which is neat.
If anyone has any leads on how to get ahold of the three volumes of bilingual Kitaro manga from Kodansha that're out there, but out of print, let me know. I would gladly reimburse any kind souls who stumble across the books and decide not to keep 'em for themselves!
