Deathly Hollows

Definitely worth the wait.  I wasn't able to finish before I left for work (less than a hundred pages left, and I wasn't too happy to leave), but I finished on my break.

I can't believe that Hedwig was the first to die! And as soon as Dobby showed up, I knew it was the end for him.  The funeral was absolutely heart-wrenching.  And Fred . . . poor Fred.  The fact that he and George immediately began making jokes about George's ear, that was classic Weasley twins.  I cannot believe that Ted Tonks was left an orphan . . . just about broke my heart.

But above it all was Neville Longbottom.  I think that this book showed that he truly and honestly belonged in Gryffindor, and not jsut because he was able to pull the sword from the hat.  He led a resistance to Snape at Hogwarts and took his beatings because of it, he killed the last Horcrux (one of my favourite parts of the book, by the way), and was just all around amazing throughout.  He has always been one of my favourite characters and while he didn't kill Bellatrix like I had hoped (Mrs. Weasley calling her a bitch . . . classic), he still has cemented his way into my heart.

The epilouge kind of irked me though.  First, I wanted to know more about what everyone was doing.  Was Harry an auror like he had dreamed?  Who was Headmaster at Hogwarts?  But also, there didn't seem to be much love between Ginny and Harry.  I would have thought it great if they had even just touched hands at the end, but it didn't seem like they interacted with each other at all in that last chapter, you know?

Sadly, I have to leave for work so I will have to post more later.
