I completely understand that my family is not the only people the doctors are treating (I mean, I wish that people never got sick, but that is not a reality, right?). That being said, I do think it is just wrong to have one doctor say one thing, the next doctor (who says he does not know why the other doctor said that) tells us something completely different. Then a third doctor has said something else entirely.
Shouldn't the team of doctors be in communication with each other and then the family? so my poor mother and aunts and uncles are not put on such a roller coaster ride? I mean, we have had to request to speak to someone everytime we have needed to, because no one has come into the room except the nurses (who have been lovely people, but aren't making the decisions about my uncle). And when we DO request to talk with the doctors, it is often three/four hours later before the nurse has to go and follow up with what happened because no one tells us anything and no one comes to talk with us. That to me is not acceptable...
And they kick all visitors out for the hours they do rounds, so we can't even wait for the doctors then. It is just really sad and frustrating to me is all.
