All my family is out. I feel abandoned. Well, I will just watch TV and eat a lot of Easter fare and maybe I will eat the chocolates that I bought for them. That will teach them a lesson. Ner.
Today I went sleeping bag shopping. There's so much choice! And the things to choose from I don't particularly have an opinion about, such as:
500 or 600 loft?
3 or 3 1/2 season?
Rectangular or semi-rectangular?
1.2 kg or 1.5kg?
The sales assistant gave me all my options, and then asked what I thought, and all I could come up with was '...yeah'. Eventually he realised we weren't going to get anywhere unless he recommended one, so he did and I bought it. I am new the proud new owner of a Navigator III regular with left sided zip and silk liner (light weight, dries quickly, apparantly).
It is actually quite exciting. Mum paid as a super-early bday present. I played the 'i'm not going to be here for my birthday' card, which worked nicely. I tried it on when I got home and jumped all around the house in it for about half an hour. I'm surprised the novelty didn't wear off more quickly. I am taking it down to Warragul with me, as according to the email I received the 'cottage' that we're staying in can get quite cold. Someone said the 'cottage' is actually a portable. That's right, we're staying in a portable with no heating and hospital visitors sporadically coming and staying the night. And the emergency dept has four beds*. Yay for Warragul emergency rotation.
This has been a rather pessimistic email. I am sad i didn't organise to do anything tonight, that's all. To cheer things up, I will leave you with a movie quote:
"Look at that. "Accident Blackspot"? These aren't accidents. They're throwing themselves into the road gladly. Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness. Throw yourselves in to the road, darlings, you haven't got a chance!"
